Caramelized Onion & Blue Cheese Hot Dogs
Fancy-up your 'dogs with some gourmet toppings! These hotdogs hit all the flavors with salty, sweet and sour in every bite -- and they pair wonderfully with our Unoaked Chardonnay.
Ingredients
6 Hot dogs
4-5 Yellow onions, peeled and thinly sliced
3 Tbs Olive oil
2 Tbs Balsamic vinegar
1/2 cup blue cheese, crumbled
1/2 cup cooked bacon, crumbled
1/2 cup pickled red peppers, diced
6 Hot dog buns
Butter

Instructions
1. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat, add the onions, season with salt and pepper and a splash of balsamic vinegar, stir to combine
2. Stir onions frequently till they become a deep brown color and are fully caramelized -- around 30-40 minutes. If pan gets too dry in the process, splash on some unoaked Chardonnay
3. Grill up your hot dogs to your liking
4. Butter and lightly toast your buns, also on the grill
5. Top the hot dogs with crumbled blue cheese, bacon, pickled red peppers and caramelized onions
Serve with chilled glass of Toad Hollow Unoaked Chardonnay and enjoy!
