Red Wine Hot Cocoa

This delicious and decadent hot cocoa recipe features red wine in the recipe to add some flavor and depth to a classic and beloved winter drink. We recommend our fruit-forward Pinot Noir, but our Merlot is also a great option.
Toad Hollow Red Wine Hot Chocolate Recipe

Ingredients

2 cups chocolate chips
½ cup brown sugar packed
¼ cup cocoa powder
½ tsp cinnamon
pinch of salt
5 cups milk of choice
1 bottle Toad Hollow Pinot Noir or Merlot
Whipped cream for serving
Chocolate shavings (optional)

Instructions

Combine all ingredients except wine and the whipped cream in a sauce pan over medium-low heat, stirring often till blended and smooth (about 8-10 minutes). Reduce to low heat and add wine. Cook for 5 minutes more. Ladle hot chocolate into mugs and top with whipped cream and sprinkle with chocolate savings.
